Confirmed Crossover Match-Ups

Weekend of Oct 2, 2010

Philadelphia (North #3) @ NOVA (South #1)

The winner of each crossover match will advance to the CR3 Championship weekend, plus a wild card. Teams will be ranked for CR3 championship day-1 match-ups based on their crossover performance (determined by - in order - best point differential, best try differential, most points scored, most tries scored, ranking from league season). Therefore the losing team with the best crossover results will be the wild card.

For both the crossovers and the CR3 championships, the following applies to matches tied at the end of regulation:

• If the match is tied in regulation, then there will be a 5 minute water break followed by overtime.
• There will be a coin toss during the water break to determine side and kickoff. Teams will alternate side and kickoff at the start of every overtime period.
• Overtime begins with TWO 10-minute periods. BOTH 10 minute periods will be fully played, regardless of scoring.
• There is a 2-minute water break at the end of every overtime period.
• If one team is ahead at the end of the second overtime period, then they are the winner of the match.
• If the match is still tied after two overtime periods, the match will proceed to sudden death.
• Sudden death consists of 10-minute periods with a change of sides and kickoffs after each period. Note: the teams merely switch sides and kickoff to the begin the 3rd OT period which begins sudden death; there is no additional coin toss.
• The first team to score in sudden death is the winner of the match.

2010 CR3 Championships to be hosted by Atlanta

The CR3 Championships will be hosted by the Atlanta Harlequins at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA.

More details will be coming soon!

Schedule Update

Note that Boston and Providence have moved their match from Aug 28 to Sept 25.

This change has been reflected in the calendar, schedule below, and in the guidelines document.

Bid to host the 2010 CR3 Championships

The CR3 Championships will be Oct 16-17. Anyone that is interested in hosting should complete the bid packet linked below and return to Jessa, Margy and Nancy no later than July 31. Our plan is to have a location announced by Aug 7.

Welcome to the 2010 CR3 Season

At long last, the fall 2010 CR3 schedule is posted below (and also in calendar form at the bottom of this webpage). If any teams would like to reschedule a match for one of the available reschedule weekends, you are free to do so and work that out yourselves. Just make sure you notify your TU rep(s) as soon as possible of the change. Additionally, we strongly encourage all home teams to offer to host your opponents to save on travel costs, especially when the visiting team has a long way to travel.

Other important news:

• Welcome to the Village Lions and Providence Women! Both teams made the decision after much success in the DII ranks to step up to the challenge of DI, and we are happy to have you as part of the CR3.
• There have been some updates in the CR3 Competition Guidelines/Contacts document - including team contacts as well as some league policies: B side match requirement, match cancellations due to extreme weather, forfeits and withdrawals, and window for match kick-offs based on visiting team travel). PLEASE take a moment to read through, as one or more of these changes probably affects your team.
• Any teams interested in hosting the CR3 Playoffs on Oct 16-17 should indicate that interest to their TU rep asap. We are finalizing a bid packet and will send out early this week.
• One of our TU reps, Jessa Giordano, is on the Women's Premier League Expansion/Promotion/Relegation Committee. Please reach out to Jessa at jessagio@gmail.com with your ideas, concerns, etc. A press release will be going out soon to all women's club teams in the USA announcing the formation of this committee and its membership.
